Paedophile Gary Glitter was barely recognisable when he ventured out in public following his release from prison in Vietnam.
Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - was photographed on a supermarket shopping trip disguised in a large hat and orange wig and without his familiar grey goatee beard.
Pictures of the former glam rock star on the visit to a Sainsbury's store in Hampshire appeared in Wednesday's Sun newspaper.
The 64-year-old has laid low in the UK since he was ejected from south east Asia at the end of his prison term.
He has been staying with a friend at his luxury home near the sea in Hampshire since his return, according to The Sun.
Glitter served nearly three years in a Vietnam jail for sex offences against young girls.
In 1999, he was jailed in Britain for possessing child porn images on his computer.
When he returned to Britain he was ordered by magistrates to sign on the sex offenders' register and give details of his name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number.
A Hampshire Police spokesman would not confirm or deny whether Glitter had done so.
"It's our policy not to discuss the details of individuals registered as sex offenders," he said.
