SPURS striker Dimitar Berbatov put the boot in on the north London club after the Sun pictured him today signing a Manchester United shirt.

The Bulgarian frontman, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer will have angered Tottenham fans all ready furious with the player for handing in a transfer request last week.

This latest revelation will do little to help the already frosty relationship between the clubs after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy reported the Red Devils to the Premier League for trying to unsettle Berbatov.

The paper picture allegedly shows the 27-year-old signing the shirt at Sofia Airport as he set off for Bulgaria’s friendly in Bosnia-Herzegovina where he scored twice in a 2-1 win.

And one onlooker quoted in the report said: “I was gobsmacked when he took the shirt and signed it.

“He didn’t have any problems with it at all.

“If I was one of Berbatov’s team-mates or a fan, I’d be furious. It is incredibly disrespectful — he may as well have kissed the United badge.”

Tottenham legend and Sun columnist Jimmy Greaves added: “Signing the United shirt is certainly cheeky.

“He clearly wants to leave. If he doesn’t want to stay they should get rid of him.”

unbelievable, if that's true it's a disgrace and he should be fined the maximum amount he can be by the club.
We only want players who want to play for our club, as far as I'm concerned he should be made to rot in the reserves for that, very unprofessional.

What's wrong with that? A fan obviously asked him to sign it and he obliged - if he hadn't he would have seen headlines like 'moody Berba' etc. I am a Spurs fan and I couldn't give a ****. It would have unprofessional had he refused to sign it. It means absolutely nothing.
